Despite its location within a national park, Washington Memorial Chapel receives no federal funding. It survives solely on private donations from individuals, foundations, and organizations.

Our country’s 250th anniversary is a time for us to remember that we are all heirs to a wonderful heritage – the great gift of freedom and self-government bequeathed to us by the Founding generation, who sacrificed so much for our benefit.

Washington Memorial Heritage is a secular 501(c)(3) that works to ensure that Washington Memorial Chapel will be here for generations to come. The One Heart & One Mind Capital Campaign, launched in 2022, aims to raise $5.5 million to fund projects laid out in a carefully prepare master plan. Our two current priority projects are:

Cloister of the Colonies Restoration

Dr. W. Herbert Burk, the Chapel’s Founder and first Rector, referred to the Cloister of the Colonies as “a unique monument of patriotism and the most beautiful memorial at Valley Forge.” After over a century of constant visitation, however, the Cloister is beginning to show its age. Having been constructed in phases over nearly two decades, this unique memorial given by and for the American People is now once again in need of your support. Read More

Patriots Hall

Patriots Hall is not only a gathering place for the Chapel’s congregation and the local community, but it is also the perfect venue for meetings of the many patriotic and lineage societies who visit the Chapel. Unfortunately, the space no longer reflects the elegance of the Chapel or provides the necessary meeting amenities. It’s time for an upgrade.
